At approximately 05:05 on 03 January 2010 in Hohenfehls, Germany while conducting access control operations to a U.S. Army installation, Security Officer Heiko Obitz was informed by the Military Police to be on the look out (BOLO) for a specific vehicle. When the BOLO reached his post he detained the occupants at his position until law enforcement authorities arrived. Due to his exceptional attention to detail, he was able to prevent criminal suspects from entering the caserne

At approximately 00:20 on 25 September 2009 in Grafenwöhr, Germany, Security Officer Birgit Gold detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of a driver attempting to enter post. She held the vehicle operator at her position until the on duty supervisor and the Military Police arrived. Due to her exceptional attention to detail, she was able to prevent an intoxicated driver from entering the caserne, and possibly saved somebody’s life.

On 13 October 2009 in Landstuhl, Germany, Security Officers Thomas Lessmeister, Robert Bako, and Michael Würz were conducting vehicle inspection point operations. At approximately 07:40 the passenger of a truck being searched stated that there was an explosive device inside the vehicle. Security Officers Lessmeister, Bako and Würz immediately affected the detention of the suspects. Meanwhile, the Senior Security Officer, instantly closed the gate to incoming traffic and notified law enforcement & force protection authorities. The on duty supervisor, Mr. Daniel Pommer, was present at the gate when the incident occurred and provided outstanding leadership and guidance to the Security Officers as they affected the detention of the suspects and closing of the post. Eventually, Military Police authorities cleared the vehicle, but barred it from entering the installation. Due to their exceptional dedication to duty the Security personnel were able to prevent a potentially very dangerous situation from occurring. They reacted exactly as they are trained to respond in these situations.

At approximately 22:50 On 2 December 2009 at Mark Twain Village in Heidelberg, Germany a customer arrived on the post and complained of severe chest pain. He seemed to be in shock, was very nervous and scared. Security Officers Kai Löser and his partner immediately called for an ambulance, then rendered first aid and comfort to the individual. Finally, they assisted emergency medical personnel in entering on to post in a quick and safe manner to assist the patient. Due to their exceptional dedication to duty they were able to prevent a possibly very dangerous situation from occurring.

On 16 October 2009 at approximately 13:19 while returning from the company headquarters in Erlensee to their place of duty in Heidelberg, Germany, Security Officer Francesco Antonio De Angelis and his partner observed a man carrying a concealed rifle walking down the street. They immediately notified the police of the situation and followed the individual to a local supermarket. When the man left his weapon unsecured outside of the store, the Police Dispatcher requested that they retrieve it. Instantly they got the firearm and secured it in the company vehicle until Police Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. Due to their excellent attention to detail and exceptional devotion to duty a potentially very dangerous situation was averted.

At approximately 00:55 on 24 August 2009 in Baumholder, Germany Supervisor Heiko Theobald observed a vehicle off post driving erratically. Later, when the same vehicle attempted to enter a U.S. Army installation, he checked the driver’s identification and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. He immediately detained the individual and called law enforcement personnel. The German police arrested the occupant and took this person to a local hospital for a blood alcohol test. Due to his exceptional attention to detail, Mr. Theobald was able to prevent an intoxicated driver from entering the caserne and possibly saved some bodies life.

At approximately 17:05 on 8 December 2009 at Gate 3 in Bamberg, Germany a customer arrived at Security Officer Oliver Seifert’s post in a very severe physical condition. He was in and out of consciousness and had lost all bodily functions. A week prior he had fallen approximately 15 feet and landed on his head resulting in a slow blood leak to his brain. Mr. Seifert immediately called for an ambulance, then rendered first aid and comfort to the individual. Finally, he assisted the ambulance personnel when they arrived and gave them a quick briefing on the situation.
